Providing 36 years of Investing Experience
Our Philosophy
Cottonwood Capital Group takes a flexible approach to investing in credit instruments with a focus on generating relatively attractive risk adjusted returns over an economic cycle. The fund has the flexibility to invest in a variety of credit markets, both public and private, with an emphasis on high yield bonds and leveraged loans. The team employs a disciplined approach to credit research with more than 36 years of combined investing experience in performing and non-performing credits across capital structures, sectors, and instrument types.

Our Investment Process
The non-investment grade investible universe is inefficient and inconsistently followed.
Cottonwood Capital Group seeks to capitalize on information asymmetry, complexity, and technical issues that are not well followed or understood. Our goal is to identify mispriced securities and determine the reason for the off-market sentiment with the goal of investing opportunistically in the optimal part of the capital structure.
The foundation for all our investments begins with a disciplined bottom-up, business analysis and research process. We focus on finding businesses with strong leadership, attractive industry life cycle and competitive positioning, sustainable free cash flows, and defensible business models. After identifying the best opportunities, we use relative value analysis to buy investments with mandate of creating a diversified portfolio of instruments with varying sectors, strategies, and maturities.
